About School

Yoga Vidya Mandiram is a registered with Yoga Alliance, USA and situated in Rishikesh, India. The school is dedicated to restore, explore, and impart the purest of knowledge of Yoga and its ancient traditional sciences. The instructors at the school have years of experience in practicing and teaching yoga.

The school runs Yoga teacher training program throughout the year. On an average there are 8-11 students in every batch. Apart from the regular Yoga TTC program, the school also conducts various other short term yoga courses and retreats including Yoga and Meditation, Yoga and Ayurveda, Chandra and Kundalini.


The school is located near Laxman-Jhula and those who want to explore the area can take a tour around on foot. Please ensure that you have read the directions carefully. If you book through us, we will drop you at the school. If you are approaching the school otherwise, please arrive at Syndicate Bank, Tapovan Rishikesh and call Acharya Sudhir Agasti or the representative to guide you for further directions.


There are total 21 standard rooms available at the school, including both AC and Non- AC rooms.  The school operates from Tapovan Vatika resort. Please note that the course fees includes Non A.C. accommodation only. The school charges separately for using the A.C. Free WiFi facilities are available at the school.

Please note that students are allowed to stay in the school from the course start date. If you are arriving at the school earlier, please notify the school in advance. Extra stay and extra meals are chargeable. Each room is equipped with a queen sized bed and hot water facility.

Yoga Hall

The school has two yoga halls, both located on the ground floor, and equipped with A.C. and can accommodate maximum 25 practicing students at a time.

Dining hall

The dining hall is located at the ground floor and maximum 35 students can dine at the same time. There is no A.C. in the dining hall.


Everyday food menu is fixed by the management, however students can inform the chefs if they want something special. The school has listed the varieties available and meals are prepared according to the list.The food prepared is Satvic, vegetarian and on the principles of Ayurveda cooking.

The school serves three meals and two teas a day. 

Class size

The class size at the school is a medium and usually there are around 8-12 students in a batch.

Payment and cancellation

You can confirm your seat after paying the advance booking amount. The rest of the fees is payable directly at the school. The school accepts fees in cash/credit card at the school. All major currencies are accepted at the school.

The advance payment is refundable if the cancellation is done before one week of the course start date. There are no refunds if the cancellation is done in the preceding week of course start date.

  • No alcohol or any other intoxicating substance consumption.
  • Friends and relatives of the students are not allowed in the school accommodation.
  • Scheduled check out is the day course ends. Extra stay is chargeable.

About the course:

This teacher training is a hatha focused and multi-style teacher training program for beginners and the students with basic knowledge of yoga. 

This 100-hour yoga teacher training will be held by experienced reputed meditation guides and the team of accomplished yoga teachers. The teachers and guides are including an Ayurvedic doctor who feels privileged to share his/her knowledge and practice of ancient traditions with modern elements of medical sciences (yoga anatomy and physiology).

This training course aims to provide a solid foundation in different aspects of yogic disciplines that prepare them to adopt yoga as their life profession. This is also meant for who further want to advance their experiences by advance practices and knowledge. This 100-hour yoga course mainly includes the following contents:

Mantra recitation (mantra – Japa), daily joints and glands practices (granthi – vimochana – kriya), yoga postures (yoga asanas), meditative steps of doing asanas, six cleansing exercises (shat karma), science of breath (pranayama), yoga energy locks (Bandha) and yoga gestures (Mudra), meditation (Dhyana), yogic sleep (yoga Nidra), history and philosophy of yoga (yoga Darshana), yogic anatomy and physiology of human body, basic principles of Ayurveda, asana alignment practicum classes, yoga teaching practice, and teaching methodology. Yoga psychology enhance the students’ learning at various levels; mentally and emotionally by which they learn to adopt the yogic disciplines in daily life.

The classes start at 6:00 AM. Daily class schedule is fixed and same classes are followed every day till completion of the course.

Swami Omkarananda, grew up around the great lady saint of India, Ma Anandamayi He studied and lived with six enlightened Masters Swami Dayananda Saraswati, Swami Veda Bharati, Swami Chidananda Saraswati, Dalai Lama, Lung Chu, and the Master of Masters Kalyan Babaji of Himalayas.

Acharya Sudhir Agasti | 
Director/Yoga Teacher

Acharya Sudhir Agasti, is a very experienced and an influential guide of yoga and meditation, follower of Swami Rama of the Himalayas and the direct disciple of Swami Veda Bharati. Born in a spiritual family he grew up and was trained by his parents in disciplines of yoga and spiritual life.  Staying at Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama, Rishikesh, he studied yoga and meditation, Indian philosophy including Sankhya, Yoga, Vedanta and Tantra philosophies. He is designated as an E-RYT 200, and RYT 500 from Yoga Alliance (USA), and a certified Master Yoga Teacher of 500-Hour from Yoga Alliance India (YAI). Acharyaji also holds his academic education of MA in Yoga from Jain Vishva Bharati University, Rajasthan. 

Acharya Jagjeet Singh |
Hatha & Yoga Philosophy E-RYT 200

Yoga Acharya Jagjeet is a saintly personality by birth. He was blessed to have taken birth in a spiritual family. …He has been practicing and teaching yoga for more than 11 years. He feels fortunate to have Acharya Karamveerji (Swami Ramadeva’s guru brother) as his yoga guru. Even after acquiring skills in yogic therapies and doing meditation in the Himalayas, he had an urge to go deeper, in order to gain more awareness of yoga therapies; as a result he opted to learn and work enthusiastically on Shatkarma

Dr. Shobha Shree |
Meditation & Philosophy Teacher

Dr. Shobha Shree was born in a spiritual family of Haridwar, a famous pilgrimage of India. She was brought up in the spiritual environment of mantra chanting and study of philosophy in her family from her childhood. Therefore she had a keen desire of getting higher education in yoga philosophy and of doing her spiritual practice. Dr. Shobha has done Ph.D in yoga philosophy from Gurukul Kangari University, Haridwar, post graduation in philosophy and psychology and one year diploma in yoga. 

Ravinder Singh Padiyar | 
Ashtanga Vinyasa & Alignment Instructor

Acharya Ravinder Singh Padiyar is a highly qualified and experienced instructor of Astanga Vinyasa. He holds his academic education from different prestigious yoga institutes and Universities in India including his Astanga Vinyasa education from Mysore (Karnataka), and MA in yoga from Jaina Vishva Bharati, Rajasthan. He is also specialized in teaching physical, breathing and mental training techniques to students of different sex and age from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga teaches the practice of different asanas. It is the branch of Indian philosophy that directs not only towards building a sound body and mind but also towards achieving inner peace and happiness. Asanas or postures in Hatha Yoga strengthen different parts of body and develop the balance of the body.
