Rajendra Singh Negi

Rajendra Singh Negi is an assistant teacher at the Vedic Yoga Centre. Rajendra was born in the foothills of the Himalayas in Rishikesh on the banks of the sacred River Ganga. He started his yoga practice in the Divine Life Society in 2005. He was inspired by one of his teachers, Swami Samarpananda Saraswati from Bihar School of Yoga, who had a major influence on his life (the Swami is a disciple of the famous Paramahansa Niranjanada Saraswati). Through Rajendra’s dedication to yoga and Ayurveda, he became a trustee of the Samarpanada Yoga Awareness Foundation in Tapovan.
Rajendra achieved a Diploma in Yoga Therapy and Nutrition in Rishikesh during 2006-7 at the Gharwal University. In 2008 he completed a Diploma in Ayurveda Therapy and Swedish and Thai Massage in the Kerala Ayurveda Hospital and Pharmacy. He worked there in a voluntary capacity for 6 weeks after completing his Diploma.

Shailendra Singh Negi

Our senior yoga teacher, Shailendra Singh Negi, was born in Rishikesh, India, on the banks of the holy river Ganga at the foot of the Himalayas.
Although Shailendra progressed through the modern education system and completed a University degree in Accounting, it was not long before he moved away from his profession to follow his passion for a yogic life. Through his initial experiences with the Sivananda Ashram in Rishikesh, Shailendra became inspired to dedicate his life to walking the yogic path. His first diploma was earned at the Shukhdevanand Yoga and Nature Cure College at Rishikesh, followed by studies at the Gurukul University in Haridwar where he successfully attained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Consciousness and Yogic Science.

Shailendra does not practice or teach one specific style of yoga; rather, he focuses on the traditional practice of Vedic yoga which encompasses a holistic approach, combining its many different aspects, with an overall aim to help students achieve the capacity for peace and stillness.

I was send here by God.
Excellent place to stay in Rishikesh, near the ganga, room very cosy and clean.
With a perfect spiritual yoga teacher.
A family that make you feel like at home.
You can also practice harmonium and others Indian instruments like tabla and so on.
Experiment a chai with buffalo’s milk that they have.

My wife and I we have stayed in Vedic Yoga center for 5 nights and enjoyed the stay. Everything about this place was very good – location, cleanliness, spirit. The placed is owned and ran by a family and this also brings a very good touch to it. We would definitely recommend this place.

I found this place by instinct – a little voice told me to follow the sign. And I’m so glad I did. It is in the heart of Rishikesh, yet quiet and clean. Kukuji and his family are very welcoming, and they offer yoga asana classes, meditation, kirtan and massage. He also organized a day trip to a Durga temple. I’m so happy I found this place!
