He learned his trade early, beginning his dedicated practice at just five years of age. He came to Rishikesh – in the foothills of the Himalayas, by the banks of the sacred river Ganges in 2001 – helping to establish its reputation as the ‘yoga capital of India’. Since then Rajeev has taught 1000s of students, in high-profile yoga schools across Korea, China, Thailand and Portugal. He returns to his spiritual home of Rishikesh annually, to support the growing number of students who travel from far and wide to develop their yoga teaching credentials.

Then 5 years ago, his path took him to Rishikesh, where he has continued his commitment to his own sadhana and to the progress of his students. For following the steps of his Guru Aanandmurti, he is a constant and daily meditator while he always cares for the welfare and growth of every individual student. Doctor Sumit brings his highly skilled and scientific cognition to our team. Having secured hismaster’s degree and having had many years of intensive experience with many different patients and conditions at the hospital, Doctor Sumit is uniquely able to apply the yogic systems to fit students’ varying needs

A native of Rishikesh, Dr Sumit has been inclined to the practice of spirituality since his childhood. He realized that his area of interest is to apply modern medical research and knowledge to the ancient science of yoga. This encouraged him to do another masters degree in yoga therapy. He believes that to truly understand and appreciate yoga, a scientific viewpoint becomes essential. In his teachings on the anatomy and physiology of yoga, Dr Sumit is able to connect yoga with modern science and he makes an objective analysis of how yogic practices are beneficial in some of the greater systems of the body.
