Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga teaches the practice of different asanas. It is the branch of Indian philosophy that directs not only towards building a sound body and mind but also towards achieving inner peace and happiness. Asanas or postures in Hatha Yoga strengthen different parts of body and develop the balance of the body.

Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga Yoga, the yoga of Eight Limbs was given by Yoga Maharshi Patanjali. In his philosophy, the eight spiritual practices can lead a person towards self-realization and ultimate happiness.
The eight limbs are: Yama (Moral Codes), Niyama (Self-Purification), Asana (Posture), Pranayama (Breath Control), Pratyahara (Sense Control), Dharana (Concentration), Dhyana (Meditative Absorption) and Samadhi (Absorption into Universe).

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa denotes a flowing, dynamic form of yoga, connected to breath or pranayama in which yoga and mudra transitions are embodied as linkages within and between asana.Vinyasa is also employed as a noun to describe the sequence of poses that are performed between Adho Mukha Svanasanas or Downward Facing Dog as part of a Surya Namaskara or Sun Salutation sequence.

Shiva Yoga Peeth is a really good school with excellent and very qualified teachers. Every each one of them is unique in his own way and you will learn so many new things, even if you have already your practise of years. Get ready to absorb all of their amazing knowledge and bring with you an open mind and heart. The Yoga hall is by far the best in Rishikesh, huge and open space, high ceilings and windows, full of daylight and with a wonderfull view to the Ganga river- all very important factors ’cause you will spend a lot of hours inside!! The kitchen stuff prepares everyday the best food, which is healthy & delicious and of course plenty of it- sure you will never get hungry (also, filter water is available 24/7). The accomodation is at the ashram just next to the school, situated in front of the Ganga too. Single rooms with your own bathroom and always hot water (really important for happy muscles!). The reception stuff is ready to help you anytime always with a huge smile! Overall, a highly recommended experience ?

I did my 500 hour teacher training course here, and I couldn’t be happier, the classes are amazing and all the teachers are experts in what they do, it’s awesome to feel all the love they have to share, and to have found a home away from home. I’m doing internship next month cause I refuse to leave the side of mother Ganga #thereisonlylove

I highly recommend this school. It is easy to get drowned in the multitude of yoga school options in Rishikesh. After looking around for a month for a school I decided on this one. The caliber of teachers are excellent. The location is beautiful. The atmosphere created by Swami, teachers and staff facilitates learning and self growth. The ashram location is a great spot to be, very close to the beach. One of my fondest memories, is sitting next to Ganga beach right next to ashram on a full moon night with friends from Shiva Yog Peeth. The food is also very good, if you enjoy Indian food with little salt. If not, there are countless restaurant options, nearby. The education offered here is all encompassing, there are many schools in Rishikesh but this one is building a good reputation due to its hard work. Be open to all that is, accept and know that you are in good hands.

I have really enjoyed my time at Shiva Yoga Peeth. Having completed the 500 hour YTT. All the teachers were amazing !!! Its been a truly life changing / enhancing experience. It was much more than I was expecting both physically, mentally and spiritually. If you have the opportunity to spend some time in Rishikesh then I would highly recommend the course. Jump out of your comfort zone and experience real yoga. Lovely, people, location and energy 🙂
