About School

Yogandham, founded by yogi Manish Arora, is located in the Anand Dham Ashram Rishikesh and conducts 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training courses throughout the year. The school follows traditional style of yoga although all its courses are registered with the yoga alliance U.S. and the students receive the 200 hours yoga teacher training certificates after the completion of the course. 

The mode of instruction is English. The students are expected to have at least basic proficiency in the language. The students should also tell the instructors in advance if they are suffering from any disease.

Location

The school is located near Tapovan area, very close to Laxman Jhula. Please ensure that you have read the directions carefully. If you book through us, we will drop you at the school. If you are approaching the school otherwise, please arrive at Syndicate Bank, Tapovan Rishikesh and call the school manager or Yogi Manish to guide you for further directions. 

Accommodation

The residential facility is located in the Ashram campus only. Currently the school has 20 rooms available. All the rooms offered are standard Non AC rooms. The school makes separate accommodation arrangement if the number of students exceeds the rooms available at the school. The rooms are located on the ground and the first floor. Each room is equipped with a queen sized bed and hot water facility. The school also has a small library and garden in the campus.

The school has typical Ashram type accommodation facilities. The campus is bigger as compared to the campus of other yoga schools in Rishikesh. However, the accommodation reflects the true ashram culture in India. If you want to experience your yoga journey with a touch of ashram based life (yogic life)and open surroundings right in the heart of the bustling Laxman Jhula area, you can choose the school.

Please note that students are allowed to stay in the school only 1 day prior to the course start date. If you are arriving at the school earlier, please notify the school in advance. Extra stay and extra meals are chargeable.


Yoga Hall

The school uses different yoga halls for practicing different classes. The indoor yoga hall of the school is big and can accommodate upto 25 students easily. The school also arranges for open area yoga sessions in the morning. Three yoga halls allow sadhaks and guests to practice during scheduled special events. The halls are located on the Ground level, on the second floor and on the terrace (open). all the Yoga halls are clean, authentic and natural space for yoga practice. Each hall is supplied with pillows, bricks, bolsters and yoga mats. 

Food

Everyday food menu is fixed by the management. The school has listed the varieties available and meals are prepared according to the list. The food prepared is Satvic and vegetarian. The school serves three meals a day. The food is prepared in a separate kitchen. The ashram also hosts separate daily Langar for non residents yogis/sadhus.

Breakfast:  Porridge, Fruit Salad, Brown Bread with Jam/Butter, Sprouts, Poha, Aaloo Paranthas.

Lunch: Vegetables, Lentils curry, Rice, Chapatti, Salad, Khichri, Curry with Rice

Dinner:  Salad, Vegetable, Lentils curry, Chapati, Soup.

Class size

The class size is small and usually there are around 7-10 students in a batch. The school has facility to accommodate more than 25 students in its campus.

Payment and cancellation

You can confirm your seat after making 10% of the total fees as advance payment. The rest of the fees is payable directly at the school. The school accepts fees in cash/ credit card at the school. All major currencies are accepted at the school.

The advance payment is refundable if the cancellation is done before one week of the course start date. There are no refunds if the cancellation is done in the preceding week of course start date.

Rules

  • Scheduled check out is the day after the completion of the course. Extra stay is chargeable.

Course Details
About the course:

The school runs 200 hours Yoga teacher training program throughout the year. The 200 hours yoga teacher training program is designed for students who wish to stay and learn for 28 days at the school campus. After completing the course, the students are awarded with a certificate recognized by the yoga alliance U.S. Afterwards, the students can undertake yoga teaching practice after receiving the certificate.

110 hours of teaching is devoted to training and practice Methodology takes up 25 hours while 20 hours go to learning anatomy and physiology. The students are allotted 30 hours to philosophy and ethical conduct. For electives there are 15 hours and 10 hours for practicum.

The 200-hour YTT program is an intensive course with 7 to 8 hours assigned to some aspect of yoga training. Depending on the weather and season the mornings can begin as early as 6:00AM-7:00AM. with meditation followed by some yoga postures and some classes or lectures in philosophy or anatomy. Chanting and pranayama are also part of the schedule.

Daily written homework is mandatory so that students gain in-depth knowledge of the subject. As a part of the yogic practice, students are advised to sleep early.

Manish  Arora (Founder):

Yoga Acharya Manish was born in Rishikesh (Yoga Capital of World), he studied at the oldest Yoga Schools and universities of India, he emphasizes on learning the basic concepts of yoga and to find the path or life style to reach the ultimate goal of yoga that the body must be breathed into the breath of the Indian tradition of Hatha Yoga and Iyengar yoga. Combined with the antique and ancient teaching methods of yoga practice, the traditional yoga styles which brings the essence of mastery. Yogi Manish often says that he is only a student, there are a lot of things to learn, Yogi Manish teaches with all his experiences and knowledge to all the yoga learners with humility and sincerity, but also with positive thoughts and meticulous.

He has strict demands on himself, and to get along with him you will find him more professional with his teaching, whether it is classroom or life he will be concerned about everyone. In the local he was respected and loved, because he is always free to help a lot of people, but also often do charity.

Yogi Manish has been to different countries like( South America, Maldives etc) teaching and sharing his experiences about Yoga. he has been teaching yoga from last 14 years, especially in the south Amarican Countries like St. Vincent, St. lucia, St.Martien and Antigua, he has a large number of fans, constantly exchanges in the course of teaching and learning around the World, Yogi Manish speak fluent English, further understand the yoga to remove the language barriers, so loved by Chinese students! Of course, also served as the full translation of the study period. 15 years of teaching experience, is a real solution to the problem of human mind level and open the door to the wisdom of the guide.

 

Yogini Shalini

Hatha Yoga and Meditation teacher

Yoga Master, she started to practice yoga at the age of fourteen with her teacher swami Anand . She studied yoga culture, yoga philosophy, Sanskrit and Mantras at H.N.B University. Where she finished her masters in Yoga. Shalini is well versed in Hindi, English, and Sanskrit. She specializes in Hatha Yoga and Meditation. she has worked in deferent yoga school teaching Philosophy, meditation course and traditional Hatha Yoga. Shalini is modest, sincere and selfless, and has no reservations about the students. she hopes to teach yoga to more people for understanding the true meaning of life, from which the body and mind can be greatly improved, access to physical and mental health, she is a rare good mentor.

Yogi Umesh Sharma

Ashtanga- Vinyasa Teacher

Umesh is born in a Brahmin family in Rishikesh, He was spiritual from his childhood days, reading books related to yoga and Vedas along with doing yoga Asanas. Umesh learnt yoga with spiritualised guru. He did diploma in yoga and specialised himself as aAshtanga yoga teacher. He has an experience of 10 years in teaching Ashtang yoga in different countries. He is very proactive and influential with the students. He is very senciourtowardas his teaching and practice. He has been teaching for ten years and is a master of Primary series of ashtanga-style vinyasa flow yoga. He has an excellent knowledge of vinyasa flow style yoga. He is a registered yoga teacher (RYT) from Yoga Alliance USA. Yogi Umesh has a Masters Degree in Yoga Science from University.

Yogi Kamal

Yogi Kamal singh is a yoga instructor at Yoganandham. He has done diploma in yoga from HNB University Uttrakhand & Completed 200 HOUR Teacher Training From Rishikesh.he loves to focus on traditional approach of yoga and aims to make this ancient practice available to everyone.

Yogi kamalsingh is loved by his students for his dynamic style and precise adjustments that add a new dimension to their asana practice.

Yogi Kamal Singh is known for his energetic and motivating Hatha classes at Yoganandham .

Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga teaches the practice of different asanas. It is the branch of Indian philosophy that directs not only towards building a sound body and mind but also towards achieving inner peace and happiness. Asanas or postures in Hatha Yoga strengthen different parts of body and develop the balance of the body.

Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga Yoga, the yoga of Eight Limbs was given by Yoga Maharshi Patanjali. In his philosophy, the eight spiritual practices can lead a person towards self-realization and ultimate happiness.
The eight limbs are: Yama (Moral Codes), Niyama (Self-Purification), Asana (Posture), Pranayama (Breath Control), Pratyahara (Sense Control), Dharana (Concentration), Dhyana (Meditative Absorption) and Samadhi (Absorption into Universe).

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa denotes a flowing, dynamic form of yoga, connected to breath or pranayama in which yoga and mudra transitions are embodied as linkages within and between asana.Vinyasa is also employed as a noun to describe the sequence of poses that are performed between Adho Mukha Svanasanas or Downward Facing Dog as part of a Surya Namaskara or Sun Salutation sequence.

Solo Traveller

I’ve been introduced to Yoga by Manish a few years ago and since then I love this practice. Manish is an amazing teacher and through his classes he’s able to transmit his kindness and positivity towards life.
To practice Yoga at Yoganandham is an experience that I highly recommend to everybody. Both for the spirit and the body.
The rooms are very clean and quiet and everybody is really friendly and helpful.
